The Diptych Project: two friends (once neighbors & now an ocean apart), one theme

This week's theme for the diptych project is hidden.  I took this photo at a a secret garden.  It was lovely to see their faces of wonder when the climbed the stairs to discover another world, tucked away from the outside.  Check out our diptych blog!

The Diptych Project: two friends (once neighbors & now an ocean apart), one theme

This week Evie and I are highlighting a person with a passion on the Diptych project.  My portrait is of my lovely mom.  Much of her passion lies with helping others.  My whole life I have seen her avail herself to those in need- to welcome them in to our home, offer them a ride, or volunteer her time to serve them.  Currently, a large part of her time is spent caring for her elderly mother in law.  She has not only graciously accepted this role, but is thankful for the time she has to spend with and care for a woman who has given so much to her over the years.

The Diptych Project: two friends (once neighbors & now an ocean apart), one theme

'This week' was our theme this week:).  My photo was taken at an advent ornament exchange I hosted for eleven other friends.  We each made 12 sets of 2 ornaments that went along with readings from the Jesus Storybook Bible.  The plan is that each day we read a Bible story and then hung up an ornament that depicts it.  It was amazing to see all the beautiful ideas my friends had in creating their ornaments.  These ornaments will be treasured and used for years to come!  If you are interested in doing something similar, please let me know as I can send you the document we used!
